The Story

The video follows Luca in the aftermath of a heated argument with his girlfriend. Frustrated and emotionally drained, he leaves the apartment and drives aimlessly into the night. His phone keeps buzzing (calls and messages from her) but he ignores them, trying to escape the loop of a toxic relationship. He stops at a gas station, buys cigarettes, and keeps driving as the night fades. At dawn, he throws his phone away, a simple act of release and self-liberation.

The Approach

The video contrasts raw realism with surreal color and emotion. Most scenes were filmed on vintage lenses using only natural light, capturing the gritty mood of late-night streets. The studio performance shots break that realism with vibrant, dreamlike lighting, visualizing the emotional chaos behind the song. A no-budget solo filmmaking project for artist and friend Luca Tales. Shot, directed, and edited entirely by me with the artist as the only performer.

„Poison Ivy“ was shot with a minimal setup. It’s proof that storytelling doesn’t depend on resources, but on focus and emotion. By working solo, I was able to stay flexible and experiment freely.
